First, you should get 4 clear glass bottles.
Second, attach 4 hoses to the bleeder screws of the wheel cylinders at the rear and bleeder screws on the front calipers.1 hose for each bleeder screw.
Third, open up the cover on the master cylinder and try not to get any dirt etc in the opening of the master cylinder.
Forth, now try to open each bleeder screw starting at the 1 which is the farthest away from the master cylinder. When all bleeder screws are open make sure the little hoses are inside the glass jars or it will get all over the floor.
Fifth,Now you can watch the brake fluid level in the master cylinder and make sure that it does not run out. If it does you will introduce air into the braking system. dont worrie it doesnt drain very quick but keep the master cylinder full of new brake fluid.
Sixth, Now also keep an eye on those glass bottles and when you see clean brake fluid flowing form the hoses you will be pretty much done.REMEMBER TO DISPOSE OF THE OLD BRAKE FLUID IN THE PROPER MANNOR. It will take the rear brakes(wheel cylinders) a bit longer to gravity bleed so keep that in mind.
good luck.
where is the airconditor drain hose on a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville
The radiator petcock drain on a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville is on the bottom of the radiator. Look for a small black plug that looks like the plug found on a thermos or cooler.
Look at the bottom or rear of the radiator
LOOK TOWARD THE REAR OF THE OIL PAN.
It is on the bottom of the engine block, just a normal hex bolt.
drivers side bottom right of radiator remove shield and look for plug
under car folow ac lines into small tube protruding out near them
take off serpentine belt unbolt powersteering pump and hoses and drain it. That's it.
I believe you want to drain the coolant, remove the top hose at the thermostat housing, remove the housing, replace the stat and gasket, reassemble fill with coolant and bleed the system.
drain is on the lower side of the radiator opposite of the fill neck. You will need to remove the splash shield from underneath the car to view the petcock. check out www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com for more info.
Start off by removing the top engine cover carefully so that it does not brake............Drain the cooling system.Partially drain the cooling system.Remove the air cleaner assembly.Remove the radiator outlet hose from the thermostat housing.Remove the bolts securing the thermostat housing to the water pump inlet.Remove the thermostat and the gasket from the water pump housing.
There should be one on the left side bottom of the radiator. There probably isn't going to be one. Maufacturer's started eliminating the drain plug to save on production costs in the late eighties.
