There are 2 coolant hoses. They are fat. They are attached to the top of the radiator and to the bottom of the radiator. Then there are two heater hoses on this model you can barely see them. They are alot smaller and will be underneeth the exhaust manifold. They are connected to the heater core at the firewall and the water pump housing tube and the coolant outlet adapter. The one on the coolant outlet adapter is the only end you can see without any trouble.

Should be at the lower section of the coolant recovery tank
The coolant level sensor is faulty.
replace anti-freeze, replace thermostat
GM recommends Dex-cool, the orange stuff.
It should be above where the passenger places their feet. Facing the firewall.
LOw coolant? Weak thermostat?
Heater Core
If it is the low coolant light, it may mean your coolant is low. If it is not low, it may be the low coolant light sensor malfunctioning.
Check the fan relay for the 1996 Cavalier. Also, check the coolant sensor, one of these is most likely bad.
