The blend door on the 1500 is on a vertical axis and the actuator motor is located on the bottom of the heater box. You can locate the motor under the passenger side dash. If you remove the motor, you will see a black interposer that connects the metal motor drive to the metal blend door axle. You can pull this interposer down with your fingers or a pair of pliers and examine it for cracks or total failure. The most common blend door fail on these models is for this cheap plastic piece to break.
