I have a 2002. I just located my 5 digit code. It is on a white sticker in bold print. Mine was located on the (remote lock/unlock actuator box.) this box is located behind the interior trim piece that covers the seat belt adjuster just below the headliner of your car; passenger side; back seat. (not the third row if you have it) it should be smack dab inbetween the rear passenger side door window, and the rear side window of the cargo area. But just in case they relocated it from 2002 to 2006, here is a hint: use your keyless remote, and start clicking it and try listening for the clicking of that box behind one of the interior panels. Once you locate that sound, the panels simply pop out and back in. Um, but I have a suggestion: go to Walmart and buy a car radio install kit, it's only $10-15. But it has a miniature orange polymer prytool. Don't use a screw driver or anything metal! I don't want you to scratch or crack the molding. This orange prytool is wonderful! You can use all kinds of force and it won't damage the pieces in your car!
I promise this will help you find it! I had people lie to me telling me it was on the inside panel of tailgate, under the steering column! But I verified that Ford puts it directly on the actuator box. So I took my remote and started putting my ears up to the panels as I locked and unlocked using the keyless remote buttons! I hope I wasn't too redundant!
My Ford dealer was able to find the code for my 2000 Expedition by using my VIN number. It seems that the same would apply to your situation.
Keyless entry codes for most makes and models can be obtained from a dealership with the VIN number and identification. If the code has been changed by a third party then the dealership will not be able to retrieve it.?æ
Just a long shot, but check inside the trunk for a sticker.
