Question doesn't quite make sense. For pushbikes a special quick link is sometimes used, to make it possible to remove the chain from the bike completely w/o having tou use a chain-splitting tool. This link will look different from the others, usually by having short slits between the pins connecting the outer plates together.

A clean bike chain is essential for a smooth and efficient ride. Here are the steps to clean your bike chain properly: Remove: If your chain has a master link, you can easily detach it from the bike. If not, you can use a chain tool to break the chain at any link. Degrease: Use a degreaser spray or a solvent to soak the chain and dissolve the dirt and grease. You can use a brush or a rag to scrub the chain gently. Rinse: Use water to rinse off the degreaser and the dirt from the chain. Make sure the chain is completely clean and dry before reattaching it to the bike. Lubricate: Apply a thin layer of lubricant to each link of the chain. Wipe off any excess lubricant with a rag. Lubricating the chain will prevent rust and reduce friction. By following these steps, you can keep your bike chain in good condition and enjoy a better riding experience. These were the simple steps to clean your bike chain.

Usually your chain will break at the Master link. This is a special link that allows you to take the chain apart. You need to obtain a new master link at any bike shop. They may have them at Wal-Mart or any large department store. They are fairly simple to install, usually only require a hammer or a pair of pliers. Depending on the style.
Bike chains consists of alternately one link with outside plates and one link with inside plates. And the only way a chain will join up is outside plates to inside plates. This means that chain lengths are normally only adjustable by two full link length. Enter the half link. The half link has outside plates at one end, but inside plates at the other, which makes it possible to adjust chain length with only one link. It's useful if you have a bike where there's limited room to adjust chain tension by moving the rear wheel.
