Hi , I just repaired my power window , Get ready to cut up your arm & hands here.
First you must remove the door panel including the inside door handle. Now you must locate the motor ass'y. it is rivited to the door frame with aluminum rivits. you must drill out these 4 rivits and work the motor ass'y out of the small opening in the bottom of the door frame and disconnect the two red and yellow wires.
Once removed , you you can look at the unit in your bloody hand and see 3 small Phillips screws that hold the gear case together. take that cover off. Inside you will find a lot of shreaded plastic parts. The gears are usually fine , but there are 3 small plastic barrells that break. You can still get these from a good parts stores or online. ( i got mine on Ebay ) $3.00 + ship.
After cleaning out the mess , apply a nice hand full of greese ( Watch those Cuts in your hands !! they will sting ! ) next place the three new barrells where the old ones use to live and reassemble. You will have to re-rivit the motor to the door , But i used 4 new nutts and bolts from the hardware store 1/4 - 20 X 3/4 inch works great.
Good Luck.
The parts and bandades and beer are way less expensine that the $1400.00 that Ford wanted to fix this.
Maybe its your driver-side window regulator that stopped working.
On the drivers door armrest has the window lock switch been pressed on the left side ? If it has , then only the drivers door switches operate the power windows . Press the right side of the window lock switch
Probably a bad switch in the drivers door.
cANNOT GET THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW UP, IT IS PARTWAY DOWN AND HAVE TRIED SPRAYING CLEANER IN IT, NO GO. WHAT DO I DO? The switch, or relay, for that window is faulty, or worn out (since drivers window is most used). Replace it.
Broken wire in loom from door to cowl. Lose connection to switch, when ya open the door it pulls the connection lose.
Check the drivers side switch panel for the switch that locks out the passenger windows from working, make sure it is not on.
If the vehicel is several years old, this could be due to a fatigues cable in the gaiter which connects the door to the door column. The solution to this questions is answered elsewhere in this web site. it could laso be due to a failed window switch. To check this, remove the window switch be 'leavering'it out of its recess and use a voltmeter to check that when the button is pressed, a votage appears on the appropriate terminal to operate the window. You can check this out by first operating a window which works.
Often the plug in connector at the drivers side switch can becaome loose and break the connection. Remove the switch and check this.
GO TO WWW.EHOW.COM AND IT WILL EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO YOU

You can find the window relay switch inside of the drivers side door. You will need to remove the drivers side door panel in order to access the window relay switch.
