Maybe if you're lucky it'll be something simple. Perhaps a loose engine or tranny mount is allowing powertrain parts to seperate.
The tranny slipping
no, very different
The Bands in the transmission are slipping/ the tranny is bad.
as long as both had the same engine then yes.
cost 3-4 grand to replace
If it is a tranny issue than it would be the result of too much transmission fluid or worn clutchpacks. Also the torque converter stator could be going out and is slipping.
For what?? engine, tranny, transfer case.........???
The 32RH is a 3-speed tranny, with no overdrive.
Check your tranny fluid. The ticking is not the tranny...it is most likely top end ticking. Your valves need adjusted. If the tranny is empty and you fill it and it keeps slipping, look into buying another tranny. You can buy them new...or you can call around to your local junk yards to see if they have a used one. Make sure you check the mileage on the car or the tranny itself. If it's already pulled, they should have records of what vehicle it came out of and they can check the mileage on the car.
change your tranny filter and have it serviced. whatch out though if you never serviced it and your oil is not red, could result in tranny slipping.
Either it's low on tranny fluid or it may be due for an overhaul
absolutely not. not without some kind of mods and all of the wiring harnesses and computers. also the tranny would have to go with the motor as the ECU must connect to both the tranny and engine to function properly.
