I ran into this situation about a week ago. The solution isn't really as hard as you might thing. What you need to do is take a torx bit driver, or a flathead screwdriver if you don't have one, and take the dash pad below the steering column loose. You should then be able to see the steering column and a bracket that runs across the bottom of it. There should be 4 bolts sticking down with nuts holding them in place. You'll then need a deep well socked, I can't remember the size, to take loose the little bracket below the steering column. Then take the nuts loose from the steering column itself. The column should now drop down. Your dimmer switch will be bolted to the side of the steering column, with your ignition switch right above it on top of the column. Unhook the plug from the dimmer switch. You should have just enough room to fit a small ratchet or a wrench inside to loosen the bolts on it. Pull it out, pop the new one in, replace the bolts. Bolt your column, bracket, and bottom dash pad back in place. And, you should be good to go.

THANK YOU! One thing I would add is that the switch does not mount with screw holes but has screw slots that allow adjustment front and rear. Rather than completely removing the tiny mounting bolts that are so much fun to get started again you might try loosening them and sliding the switch towards the rear of the car to snug up the connection between the cup on the switch and the rod from the lever. Turns out I did not need a new switch.

Where do you set the switch for the 1991 Plymouth voyager's interior lights so the dimmer works to shut them out?

On many cars, there is a dimmer switch which controls the instrument panel lights. If this switch is turned all the way, it may cause the overhead light to come on. The overhead light will then stay on even after doors have all been closed. Find the dimmer switch, close the doors, wait 30 seconds, and then turn the dimmer switch.

Where is the Dimmer Switch located on a 1991 Park Ave.?

The dimmer switch is located under the dash to the left of the steering column. Unfortunately I don't know of any way to get to it without dismantling the dash and the steering column. Even with those items removed, it was a real chore to get at it. When we replaced my dimmer switch, we got everything back together and found that the rod that connects the dimmer switch to the lever on the steering column was bending too much to activate the new dimmer switch. This job took all day and was a waste of time and money as we have a new dimmer switch but it is useless without fixing the connecting rod problem.
