Saves them a few cubic feet which they can then tout in advertising. i have a 2004 totoya sienna and the spare is under the passinger rear slider door the carpet has a little flap right behind the passinger seat when u open the little flap or carpet there a nut that u turn and the spare will start too come down underneath
Try checking the handle on the inside of your slider. I have this problem with my slider. If the slider gets opened from inside the villager the handle sticks amd the slider wont close. I suggest using white lithium grease to help free up any stickyness of the handle. There also a possiblity that you have an item in the track on the slider, check that too.

The electronic key (remote-entry keyfob) has the lock/unlock/panic buttons on the top side and a Toyota logo on the bottom side. The front edge is what goes into the dash. On the rear edge is a keyring attached to a mechanical key and a slider to release it. 1) Hold the remote with the logo up and the slider facing away from your palm. 2) Move the slider to the right to release the mechanical key. 3) Hold the slider in the unlock position and use your thumb to press the entire logo section forward. (There is a ridge on this section to provide a grip.) 4) Remove the four screws with a very small Phillips screwdriver. The remote takes the very common CR2032 battery, available everywhere.
