No, do you?
Sounds like you have a (auto trans???). The vehicle safety switch is allowing you to start the engine because it thinks you are in park or neutral. If this is the case, check the linkage at the trany end. Diconnect the linkage at the trany and try to shift gears by hand. If there is little to no resistance, drop the pan and check to see if the "detent" assembly has a broblem. This ( the detent) is what keeps spring loaded pressure on things and is the resistance you feel when you shift the trany by hand. Look up DETENT in the dictionary for a profesional desciption.
Drink them
Linkage is on the drivers side of trany (about under drivers seat area). May not be adjustable, but if it is then look there for a adjustment rod
You proble need a new Trany I would check you fluids ! Check all lines and plugs for the Trany.
No.
could be a bad radiator i know it sounds odd but the the trany fluid is pumped through the radiator or u could just be leakin fluid check it out and check the radiator
trany bell housing
check the transaxle range switch and positioning....the holes should line up in neutral
on the side of the trany the passanger side there are two square that look like they could unscrew .both on the side of the trany, look for the one that's higher then the other unscrew with socket rench with no socket easyest way. now poor trany fluid until pours out of that hole you just unscrewed .if empty maybe five courts of mercron five trany fluid. pour throw shifter area take shift off and boot
The automatics are not interchangeable.
It'll require an adaptor
no 998 trany has different sensors and diff shift points the computer wont no when to tell it to up shift or down shift
