I have a 1993. You can go expensive and replace the air compressor and/or the air bags themselves for about !000.00. or do what I did and switch to a spring suspension . They sell converter kits @ strutmasters.com for 109.00 plus 20.00 shipping. I paid my mechanic 150.00 to install and remove air suspension. Good Day, jacquelynn52@hotmail.com
I have a 1998 ford grand Marquis- and the problem is the air suspension light stays on- how to fix this problem
What precisely is wrong with it. Are the bags ruined, or does the compressor not function? If the bags are ruined and they cost a small fortune there is the option of putting in regular springs and shocks. Not cheap either but the lesser of two evils.
Change it
If it is air suspension, it is best to convert to regular suspension. You can buy replacement coils spings to replace the air bags. The springs come with instructions. Changing the air bags was fairly simple, but the shocks were more difficult. The shocks do not have to be changed at the same time. Try googling strutmasters. The air system on my Grand Marquis started giving me problems the rear started sagging to begin with. It took me a month to get the new air springs in I got those installed and about two months later the compressor went out. After reading up on it I found out this is kind of a repetitive problem so I ordered a conversion from www.strutmasters.com and I've happy with it since I got it installed. Good Luck

No.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
if i was to fix suspension by adding shocks, i would use air shocks to compensate for the air ride
