the failure is with the "blend door" very expensive unless you are mechanical.
I had the same problem with my 1997 Grand Cherokee and it was the dash mounted automatic light switch. The problem was also solved by turning the headlamps on manually.
Check the light dimmer switch inside. It should be on the left side of the steering wheel next to the headlight switch. More than likely it is pushed all the way over to keep the interior lights on.
I have a 2004 XG350L doing the same thing. Turns out it was a bad interior dimmer switch.

I disconnected the battery overnight and after the weather clesred and everything was dry I reconnected the battery and all was back to normal. Can anyone help with this issue.
If the clock keeps resetting in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the problem is probably with the battery. It is quite possible that the battery is going dead after the vehicle is parked, leaving just enough life in it to restart the car. It can also be an alternator problem causing the battery to be drained.
When your tail lights are out you can simply replace them. If they continue to blow, you may have an electrical problem.
The interior light switch on the ceiling of the car might have them turned off, or there may be some electrical short causing the problem.
Remove oil pressure sensor and install a manual gauge
There are several things that can cause heater problems in your 1998 Jeep Grain Cherokee. The most common cause of heater problems is low fluid in your cooling system.

The fuel strainer of fuel pump in the Cherokee could be bad. It could also be an electrical problem. Run a test of computer codes to see if a problem shows up.
