take it to the dealer and have them find it, there's alot of things that it could be.
It is the instrument cluster. Get it fixed. Search eBay for DCL errors. Fixed for $75.
Code PO412 for your Lincoln means that the engine is currently misfiring, could be due to the timing is off, poor fuel, if your running regular in there, stop!, start putting anything higher then 91 octane, so 91 and up, but i wouldn't go past 93, that's what i run in my 01 continental.

AnswerThis should help. http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00086.html The only fix is to have the cluster reworked. Search Ebay for DCL errors. It can be fixed for $50 - $60 bucks
DCL refers to data control link, somtimes the plugs in back lose the connection. Follow this link, the info should help. It worked on my 93. http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00086.HTML Loose connection is not the problem. It may at best temporarily fix the issue but the problem is with the electronics inside. Had a guy on eBay fix it for $60. Have never had problems again
buy a new one ^^
According to the 2002 Lincoln Continental Owner Guide : ( " premium " unleaded , 91 octane or higher is used )
On my 93 continental the dealer put in a monroe kit. fits from 88-->93,I believe kits are available for later models also, hope this helps

The Lincoln MK VIII series ( '93-'98 ) were rear wheel drive.
A few of the problems I have with my 93' Continental is mainly with the digital gauges. It gives me a low oil pressure warning light when there is not really low oil pressure. That and I get a "check DCL" warning light all the time. There is no way that I know of to fix these problems but, I took out the warning buzzer cause it would constantly go off while I was driving it and it started driving me crazy. Another problem you might have is with the air ride suspension if it still has it. You will blow the bags all the time. If you have any questions I have a repair manual for this car so don't hesitate to ask and I will help you with what I can.
if your turning signal is not working it maybe the turn signal. it was like that in my 93
Help us out here, repair wha\t on the '93 continental?
