1. Try holding the shift lever against the "Park" position while taking the key out. 2. Try turning the steeringwheel to the left and or right while taking the key out. 3. Try to pres the key further into the switch, then turning it to the lock position, and take it out. 4. Try pressing on the brake peddle while taking the key out. This has worked on my daughter's 2001 Buick Regal.
