As far as I know, you really must be 16 years of age to become emancipated. Mainly because you do have to prove you can work and provide for yourself. Although, if you can get a judge to see you are better off on your own at 15, than in custody of your parents, they may grant it early. If things aren't too bad at home, I would suggest waiting at least until you are 16 before you do something as drastic as filing for emancipation. I can tell you that it will be hard being on your own at that age, because you still have to stay in school and you can't work full time, so it's difficult to pay bills working part time.
