* If you want to get a flat stomach you need to lose stomach fat first, and you cannot lose fat in your stomach only; our bodies don't work that way. As you lose fat all over you will start seeing the fat come off the stomach area as well and as a result your stomach muscles will start to show. * However, if you take steps to gain muscle while losing fat your body weight may remain about the same. You will have burned off the fat and replaced it with the same weight in muscle. You may weigh the same as an unconditioned flabby person, but you will look much better!* If you have a lot of fat in your stomach, then to get flat abs you have to lose the fat in the abdominal cavity… but if you still want to maintain weight and lose fat in stomach, then take up weight training, train hard with weights thrice a week, do cardio on non training days. Eat high protein-moderate carbsand low fat diet….. And expect to move on slowly…… Based on your current fat percentage you can reach your goal… For example if you are at 15% bodyfat then you can expect to have a flat abs in 4 months. * Body fat accumulating around the stomach is caused by consuming too many refined (processed) carbohydrates. Crunches will help you to get abs however, you will not be able to see them without losing weight. If you have a layer of fat over your abs, no amount of crunches will give you the abs that you are looking for.

You cannot get flat abs without exercise. yes, diet is important, but you will also need to do abdominal exercises in order to burn the layer of fat off your abs. Without exercise, your abs will remain flabby.

Dont add weight to your routines. Stick with planks crunches and sit up these will tone your abs not making them bulky.

It's a myth, that if you do enough crunches, you will obtain flat abs. The key to obtaining flat abs is to do a combination of these 3 things: Regular Cardio exercise, strength training, and a healthy diet rich in lean protein. You said you are exercising and losing weight already, so it sounds like adding a few lean proteins into your diet such as almonds, soy, and leafy greens might be the missing ingredient.
