They way you can tell if the Crank sensor is bad, is when you run the car for a while and then turn it off, and when you go to start it back up, it won't start, then it's your crank sensor, it's probably cracked, so when it heats up it expands and doesn't make contact. but if you let the car cool off, it will go back together and start up, A faulty crank sensor should trigger a check engine light.

There is a retaining ring behind the window crank. The easiest way to remove and install this is to buy the tool to remove the ring. You can use two small flat screwdrivers to push the flat ends of the ring down at the same time. Then you can just pull the handel off.

I have a 95 Chevy lumina and some kids broke into my rear window. I thought I was in for a heap of trouble. After calling several car window repair places I learned that they make a tool for taking off the crank. between the crank and the inside of the door there is a u-shaped looking holder that clamps around the crank and holds it in place. I got several quotes from people some were cheap some were inexpensive. I told a guy about my situation and he said he would take it off for free. He came out with a wrench looking tool stuck it between the crank and out fell the paper clip looking holder I was SOOO frustrated because I almost ripped the interior out of my car. The man then told me you could buy one for fairly cheap at NAPA or Bumper to bumper for under 20 bucks. I

The window crank slips because the regulator gear has most likely stripped. You will need to remove the outer door panel to verify for sure but unless the crank is broken (It would fall off if it was) the regulator is stripped

Well, to answer my own question... :-) There is a "U" shaped clasp that you pull off the crank right behind the handle. Very simple! Then.. when putting the window crank back on, just put the clasp on the handle, then push it on the crank! It'll click right in. Happy Fixin'!

There is a spring clip on the back of the handle that you have to get off before the handle will pull off, go to the parts store and get the special window crank removal tool to get it off.

It depends on the year and make vehicle. Need to know what vehicle you have to answer that question.
