For a star, you can get some Neutrogena On the Spot benzoyl peroxide and start veeery slowly with it. Just wear it for 15 minutes a day for a few days, then 30 mins for a few days, then 60 mins and so on. Once you have gotten to wearing it for 3 hours straight for a few days, start wearing it overnight. You need to wear benzoyl peroxide everyday in order for it to work, and not just "on the spot - all over. It prevents the acne from forming in the first place. Then once your skin acclimates to this, get a stronger benzoyl peroxide formulation - but make sure to check it for pore-clogging ingredient, (I'm including a list of pore-clogging ingredients in my response.
This is a good start but it usually takes more than that to get clear. It takes a combination of strong exfoliating serum and benzoyl peroxide to get clear. The other thing to be aware of is that your skin can get used to the benzoyl so it stops working. You need to strengthen your homecare every couple of weeks - like using a stronger benzoyl or using it twice a day.
