I had the same problem with my Boxter when the battery went dead. I called the Porsche dealer and he offered me a suggestion that worked great, Go to a auto part store and buy a small battery that plugs into your cigarette lighter for the purpose of starting cars when batteries are dead. Leave it plugged in for about 20 minutes and it gives you enough charge to open your hood latch. Make sure your door is open when you go to pop the latch, as I was sitting in my car with the door closed and trying to figure out why it wasnt working. Now I always keep one charged in my glove box. Good luck! Sue
Open the door and pull the hood release.
Pull the hood release handle inside the vehicle.
under the front hood, under a battery cover just beyond the spare tire.
pull hood release latch, located on the driver side left foot
The battery is located in the front of the car - under the hood, in an area just below the windshield. It has a plastic battery cover over it, which can be removed by twisting a couple of locking tabs. Access is then straightforward
The hood should still open when the battery is dead
Pull the inside hood release and then go to the front of the Explorer and press down on the hood slightly while operating the auxillary hood release located just under the front edge of the hood at the center
pull out the red tagged post in the fuse box at drivers left foot. use jumper cables to temporarily supply car with power, open hood and access battery :)
To charge the battery on a Porsche Cayenne S you need to open the hood and on the driver's side open the tallest panel and put the cables on the two points.
Stick your hand under the hoodnext to the porsche emblem & feel for a lach then psh it to the side
The hood is not controlled by any electrical device, and the battery being dead has nothing to do with opening the hood. Pull the hood latch. Can't find it then read your owner's manual.
go to the front of the car and open the hood if the engines not there your screwed
