There are two holes in the rear brake drum on the face of it that are threaded, they will be across from eachother. Find the correct thread bolt and screw them into the drum. They will push the drum out and away from the axle. Screw them in evenly a little at a time and use a rubber mallet if needed to pound around the drum to help it off. Sorry I am not sure of the proper bolt thread, I just looked through my can of bolts until I found two that fit. Hope that helps!
The correct bolt size is M8 x 1.25 thread, I used one 35mm Long.
How do you remove rear brake drum from a 1993 Toyota pickup?
A brake drum for a 2010 Toyota Corolla costs about $65-$85 if you purchase the part yourself and install it yourself. If you bring it to a repair shop you are looking at closer to $200.
To remove the drum, beat it mercilessly with a very large hammer.
i need a diagram of a 2005 Chevy silverado read drum brake setup
Go to your local garage and ask. Ask how much the brakes are and ask how much the labor will cost. Also see how long it will take.
Brake drums can be resurfaced by turning the brake drum in a brake drum lathe. When the brake drum has deep grooves in it, it cannot be repaired.
I think there is a rubber gromit on the back of the drum, take it off and use a brake ajuster tool to move the shoes in to let the drum free
A drum brake is a brake that uses friction caused by a set of shoes or pads that press against a rotating drum-shaped part called a brake drum. The term drum brake usually means a brake in which shoes press on the inner surface of the drum.
You'll only find it in manual for that vehicle.
The first step is to remove the tire. The rear brake drum will have what is known as a self-adjusting screw. This may need to be adjusted to pull the drum off, once you have the tire removed.
