The simple answer is, find out what's wrong then repair or replace any component that isn't working properly.
But it isn't that simple. Finding the faulty component is the hard part.
You need electrical diagnostic skills to track down a faulty turn signal, and you need to understand switching circuitry. There are a couple ways that auto manufacturers implemented turn signals and brake lights. You need to figure out which circuitry yours uses, learn what to expect when different components fail, then figure out a way to diagnose the problem that doesn't end up destroying any good components.
The hardest part of automobile repair is diagnosing the problem. Turning a few bolts and putting in a new component is relatively easy.
How do you replace brake lights
Fuse, wiring, bulbs
No brake lights but turn signals work? Turn signal switch brakes route through it.
change the fuse if not replace flasher
I am having the same trouble. My brake lights work with the light switch for nighttime driving, but only far right brake light works when i pres brake pedal. Reverse lights dont work at all. Turn signals and hazard light work.
Its the steering colum
Brake lights and turn signals are on a separate circuit from the tail lights. Tail lights are on the same circuit with the dashboard lights. If the dashboard lights aren't working either, check the fuse. If they ARE working, check the headlight switch.
check the fuses.
have you checked your fuses?
in dash lights
Fuse 7 controls the brake lights. It should be a red 10amp fuse.
Sounds like a bad brake light switch. Located above where you put your foot on the brake pedal.
