How do you get your computer screen to go smaller on a Acer laptop using xp?

If you're referring to making the screen smaller entirely then you will need to change your resolution. If you have Windows XP, then to do this, follow my instructions below:
~ Right click somewhere in an open area of your desktop
~Select "properties"
~A window called "Display Properties" will then open. In the display settings dialog box, click the "Settings" tab.
~ Drag the screen resolution slider to the left to decrease the resolution of your screen/monitor, making text and pictures appear larger. (Dragging the slider to the right will increase the resolution, making your text and pictures appear smaller).
NOTE:
If you are referring to making the screen larger or smaller in a web browser, while the browser is open, you can press CTRL + +(Control, plus the "plus" sign) to increase, or CTRL + - (Control, plus the "minus" sign) to decrease.
