The "best" thing to do would be to take the vehcile back to where the alarm was installed. Honda wont touch aftermarket problems. If the alarm was installed by a previous owner, than try looking up a local electronics store (alarms, stereos etc). they will be able to fix it for you, without giving you a headache.

Can the ignition switch on an 82 Yamaha XS650 be replaced with any universal ignition switch?

I would say no. Wiring is different for different models, makes and years. If you don't want an ignition switch from the manufacturer, you can purchase an aftermarket one for your bike All the dealers need is the year, make and model of the bike. mine runs the ignition switch from a 250 honda, as long as you take care to match up the positive feeds to the correct switch positions then no problem

Where is the valet switch on a 2001 Honda Accord?

I dont think a valet switch was standard on the accord but for most all aftermarket alarm installs the normal place for the valet switch is under the dashboard by where your left knee would be.

Changing ignition switch in 2002 pt cruiser I was told you can not change out the switch but had to put in a whole new steering column costing 1200.00. I think this is BS any answers?

Ign. switch can be replaced. Remove steering column covers, switch is located on left side of column. The above is correct, but you will have to have the tumblers from your old ignition switch transferred to the new assembly IF they are not worn out. Do do the smart thing purchase the OEM as the aftermarket switch is a tad bit less pricey than the OEM, but why take a chance on an aftermarket item! NO, I do not work for a Chrysler/Dodge dealer!
