You will need a radio that controls the CD changer. If you order it through Crutchfield it will come with the adapter harness for the vehicle. This is a lot easier than trying to guess and splice the wiring. Then you just run the wiring to the place you want the changer to go. Doing it without the radio controller is harder because you will need a separate amp and some sort of input splitter so that you can hear it through the speakers. You also will have to have a way to control the volume. I used to install these years ago. I wont even do it without a radio changer controller anymore. It isn't the best looking install either. Hope this helps. Good luck.
You will need a CD changer that can be controlled using an FM modulator.
with a lot of force
Check owner's manual. There is no CD changer fuse it gets power from the radio if the radio is on, there is some other problem with the CD changer.
where is the cd changer in a 97 nissan quest
In the center glove compartment passengers side.
The cd changer for a 1999 ford Expedition should be in the bottom of the center console. It has a pull out rack to change the cds.
It depends on the make/model of the CD Changer. Most aftermarket headunits have a compatible manufacture made changer. If you do not have a compatible unit you can purchase an FM Modulator for that changer. The modulator takes the signal and broadcasts it over a radio frequency.
Your best bet would be to find the CD changer the same as the brand of your radio. Such as Kenwood radio, get a kenwood CD changer. The factory CD changer will not work with most newer radios installed. And unless you like running wires to the back of your SUV it would save you lots of time to get another CD changer. That is what I did and it works just fine.
