All emotions involve a judgment about reality (for example, "he hit me" or "My test grade was an A") and an egocentric evaluation about that judgment. The egocentric evaluation is either positive ["this is good for me"] or negative ["this is bad for me"]. If there would no egocentric evaluation, there would be no emotion; there would only be an apprehension of reality.

One of the consequences of regular meditation is to reduce egocentricity. If you meditate regularly, you will begin taking events less and less personally. As that happens, your emotions will calm down. Instead of being agitated, you will become less emotional. This is good because it enables you to become more selfless, more loving, and more giving.

We can modify emotion the way we want using Original Meditation. In Original Mediation we reset the tone of muscles of facial expression.

The muscles of emotion/ Muscles of facial expression:

Extending from each angle of our mouth are a pair of horizontal muscles and a pair of vertical muscles that enables us to to feel and control our emotions.

They are,

1. Upper vertical muscle - Zygomaticus major - Pleasure

2. Lower vertical muscle - Depressor anguli oris - Displeasure

3. Outer horizontal muscle - Buccinator - anger

4. Inner horizontal muscle - Orbicularis oris - fear.

The Orbicularis oris of the two sides encircle the mouth.

Controlling emotions:

We can gain control over our emotions using Original meditation techniques.

In this, we feel each pair of the above mentioned muscles and reset their tone to zero if there is no need to be emotional. We can make the muscles isometrically contract and relax completely and thus have absolute control over the entire range of emotions.

We can use this technique to abolish depression, mania, anger, fear, disgust, phobia, etc.

We can increase love by using the muscle called Levator labii superioris aleque nasi.
