Your TPS is located toward the bottom of your throttle body. If lucky, you can remove it with an offset screwdriver, otherwise you will need to remove the throttle body so you can turn it over and have access to the TPS.
I had to unplug my MAS, EGR, IAC, and TPS, remove the air inlet between the air filter and throttle body, remove throttle cable mount and remove two brackets, 1 under and 1 behind the throttle body before it would come off and allow access to the TPS screws.
A lot of work for 2 little screws. If there is a simpler solution out there, I would really love to hear about it. I would rather work smarter than harder.
Have the codes read, my problem was with the throttle position sensor. My 94 le Sabre was also stalling occasionally.
no but you will be in need of specialty tools
try replacing the throttle positioning sensor AND the low idle air sensor
That should be the Oxygen Sensor
PFM
In the exhaust pipe
Crank shaft sensor need replaced or cam shaft sensor
it sounds like the oxygen sensor is bad or the throttle positioning sensor or even the mass air flow sensor. take the vehicle to an auto zone parts store or a checker store and they will read the code for free and you will know for sure. most likely it is the o2 sensor
on a 1994 buick le sabre, the temperature sensor is on driver's side of engine. remove the air box hose, the flexible one from the throttle body/mass air flow and put your head down there and you can see the temperature sesor underneath the throttle body. follow the two wires on the back of the motor on the manifold (maybe in a wire loom) and the two will run together under that point of the throttle body. remove the clip connector, it's a little tough if you have sausage links for fingers. after you remove the clip, a deep well metric socket should fit over it with some socket extensions on the socket and do it to it. i forget which size it was but you could just size it on your new one. good luck
The 1990 Buick LeSabre oxygen sensor is located on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The oxygen sensor will be on the back side of the housing.
Most 1991 sending units on a 1991 Le Sabre screw in. The exact location for the sending unit will depend on which one needs changing.
This is very simple. The only thing that you have to do is get either 15/16 or 7/8 combination wrench, a 2.5lb sledge hammer, and some PB blaster if needed. Put the correct size wrench onto the o2 sensor and tap it loose with the hammer then follow the o2 wire up to where it is connected and disconnect the cable. Then to install all you have to do is get some anti-seize and apply a small amount onto the threads of the new o2 sensor (be sure that you try not to touch the tip of the sensor, could cause some damage!) install the sensor into the same hole that you had taken the old one out of then tighten it down reconnect the new sensor cable and voula. The only hard thing about it is to figure out which sensor it is and whether or not it is either an upstream sensor (located before the catalytic converter) or downstream sensor (located after the catalytic converter) Hope this helps.
