Loosen the tensioner pulley. The serpentine belt will become loose and can be removed. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.

Find the idler tensioner pulley and retract it. You then will be able to easily remove and replace the belt.

how do you replace fan belt on 95 Chevy S-10 2.2 engine
**STOP** PRIOR TO REMOVING THE BELT TAKE NOTE OF THE BELT ROUTING, CHECK FOR A DIAGRAM ON THE RADIATOR SHROUD Now to replace the belt, rotate the automatic belt tensioner counterclockwise to release belt tension. remove the belt from the auxiliary components and slowly release the tensioner. Route the new belt over the various pulleys, **see note above**, then rotate the tensioner and set the belt in the grooves. be sure the belt is seated in the grooves on all pulleys, then release slowly.
Tensioner pulley below the alternator. Should be a 14 or 15mm socket and turn counter-clockwise.
get underneath or above either way you can get to it. It is right in front of the engine where your sepentine belt is. You belt goes around all your pulleys and the tensioner/pulley. You can use a 3/8" ratchet to stick in there and pull down on it, that is how your belt comes off. You can also adjust it's tension if you need to with a socket. I would youtube it if you need. It is pretty easy to deal with.
The Chevrolet S10 doesn't have a timing belt.
One of the accessories that the belt drives must be having an issue. With the belt removed spin each pulley by hand. They should spin freely, quietly and smoothly. The belt tensioner should hold good tension on the belt also.
