you have to remove the back driver trim in the back of the jeep..........you will find a green plug, the aftermarket wiring will plug into that.......................good luck

Have you looked under the vehicle? I'd be surprised if the wiring harness wasn't already there and taped up under the vehicle. Barring that, most business that sell and install trailer hitches will also install trailer wiring harnesses. If you're a DIY, go to the local auto parts store and ask. They probably have the wiring harness you need all setup to plug into the manufacturer's wiring harness.
Your best bet would be to call or go to your local auto parts store and tell them you need a "plug in" trailer wiring harness for your vehicle....these are very nice items and easy to install, as you just "plug" them into your exsisting vehicle's wiring harness. No need to "search out" for which wire goes where and no splicing of the wires either. They are more expensive than a "standard" wiring plug, but…
Purchase a harness that is custom made for your vehicle and is not a universal harness. It comes with complete instructions on how to hook it up. It is very easy and normally no wiring is needed. If it is like a 99, just remove the plastic panel behind the spare tire on the drivers side in the back. In one of the cut-outs you will see connector plugs that connect the harness to the tail lights. Good luck. go behind the spare tire, there is a panel that has to be removed. Visit auto parts store and order Hoppy 43105 harness. Remove interiorrear panel just above bumper and interior driver side rear quarter panel (where the jack storage is). You will find an unused wiring harness that is taped out of the way. Use this to connect it to the harness and route the wiring into the jack storage area.
