Begin by removing the retaining ring at the top of your ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out and you can remove the wiring harness from the end of the ignition switch. Reverse the process to install your new ignition switch.

The 1964 VW Beetle ignition switch only has three wires. Connect the red wire to the positive post. Connect the black wire to the negative posts. Connect the white wire to the auxiliary post.

the switch for hazard lght is located in the dash . the switch is the "flasher relay " so it controls the turnsignals and hazards. just pry the switch out and un plug it . install new switch . but you might want to check with your local VW dealership there is a recall on those switches . =)
