in 1972 there was no 327 cu.in. , if you are making this, are you going to HIE if so dont forget to use 8mm wires. Installing the distributor, rotate the coil cap to point to the number one spark plug wire on the distributor cap. The number one plug is, as you are facing the front of the engene 1st one on the driver side. First step is to rotate the engene to where the number one piston is in it most high position. There are a cpl. of ways of doing that, don'thave time to write a lesson here , hope you can use some of this onfo.
The 327 cubic inch Chevrolet's distributor had points and condenser and not an ignition module. If you have an ignition module then you have a HEI distributor that was changed out.
Turn it to the left which will be counterclockwise.
Depends on weather your referring to a modern vehicle with a fuel injection 327, or a classic car. Depends on if points or electronic ignition . An example being a 68 Chevy 327 with points type distributor I set the gap at .035 now same engine with electronic ignition HEI distributor Icap a bit larger a max of .045
It will screew into the top of the engine block just to the right of the distributor
1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. 1,3,5,7 are on the left bank and 2,4,6,8 are on the right with the distributor rotating clockwise.
Most SBC have a port next to the distributor.
All V8 engines have the same firing order. 1,3,5,7 is the left bank, 2,4,6,8 is the right bank and the distributor rotates clockwise. 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2
I believe it was in the 1962 model year.
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 Distributor rotates clockwise. Check the link out on the right as it has lots of information on torque specs.
you need manifold vacuum. Either on one of the intake runners or at the base of the carb.
Absolute value of -327 is 327.
The John Deere 336 series baler was in production from 1972 until 1980.
