Pads are used with disk brakes, unbolt caliper, slide caliper away from rotor, remove master cyclinder resevoir cover, pry back piston on caliper, replace pads, re-assemble caliper over rotor, bolt into place. Slowly apply brake until contact, recheck resevoir fluid level, replace resevoir cover. Below is for brake shoes. Loosen rear axle bolt, de-adjust rear chain tensioners Put bike on stand, high enough so bike has clearance greater to radius of brake hub. Remove rear axle bolt, paying attention to location of spacers and washer and direction of chain tensioner device. If brake hub has brace to prevent rotation, remove this as well. Take digital pictures if needed to remember placement of components. Drop tire down to ground, hopefully you took advice on raising bike correct height, pull brake hub from rear hub, flip it around so brakes are now facing outwards. This is lazy way, you can remove brake actuator and take to bench if needed, or if you have double cams actuating brakes. If shoes are clipped in, remove clips, slide/pry out pads paying attention to where springs are located. Installation is reverse, remember to properly adjust your chain and lube it while you have a chance...
