Here is a site on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/Stereo-Wire-Harness-OEM-Chevy-Monte-Carlo-86-87-88_W0QQitemZ110032845206QQihZ001QQcategoryZ64579QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem This is a reverse wire harness. Plug it into your car's original harness that went to the factory stereo. The wires that come out of the harness are labeled so they can be easily connected to your new stereo. If you don't want to order the harness, the link has the original color diagram, so if you think you can manage, don't order the plug and just look at the colors and what they coorespond to and plug them into your new stereos harness. Also on eBay or many other places, there are stereo adaptors. This will hold your stereo and it will look much better than a do it yourself job. Plus they screw into the original holes. Hope this helps.
Have you had the stereo replaced or upgraded? If so, they probly didnt install the proper install kit for the door chimes to work. The chimes are intergrated into the stereo system.
How do you install a new heater core on a 1979 chevy monte carlo?
i do not know go to a car stereo install ... store
Could be the factory amp had more power than the aftermarket unit most are around 45-50 watts or so they clam. But I'm sure these are overrated as well.
u have to go to the shop and buy it and pay the shop to install it
# you can buy a after market wire plug from walmart that plug into factory harness plus a universal steore insulation from walmart
sure it can be done if you have the money and the knowledge.
I have same problem with stereo in my 1998 Z34. Lights on preset's 1 and 4 work but 2,3,5,6 are out. foud out from a lot of other people that this is a defect in most all of Chevys Radios in Monte Carlo's.. They say the bulbs behind the buttons are the worst made on the market. Brett
all I need is what the color codes from the stock wire harnes to connect to the new one
Pull out the ashtray and pop out the panel covering your stock radio, a/c, & tape player. It just snaps out. Unscrew the 2 screws holding the factory radio in. Install your after-market radio and pop the cover panel back on. Seems almost to easy right?
