Remove the drive shaft and take your hand and work the joints around and back and forth. If they are STIFF are hard to work are real loose with LOT"S of play then replace them. You can also remove someof the cups and make sure there not rusted and are full of grease too.
yes
The universal joints in the front driveshaft may be going bad.
Ball joints are in the front suspension, it is basically what the wheel assembly pivots on when you turn. Universal joints are on the ends of the drive shaft in a rear wheel drive vehicle. At the transmission and rear end. They give the drive line some flexibility. The same principal is in front wheel drive but are referred to as constant velocity joints, or CV joints.
Universal Joints (U-Joints) can wear out.
Universal joints are usually found on each end of a drive shaft between the transmission and the rear differential and/or front differential to allow compensation from the up and down movement from the suspension.
Check your universal joints!
unbolt it at each of the universal joints
Rear wheel drive: Possibly a worn universal joint on the drive shaft. Front wheel drive: possibly worn CV joints on the front drive shafts.

Yes drive shaft, front end searing and front ball joints (if rear wheel drive) front end ball joints for front wheel drive
Your drive shaft won't go out it will either bend or break.... The universal joints that hold it to the transmission will go out but that's about it
With driveshaft removed check the universal joints for play or binding.
