Well...mine blew the #2 sparkplug completely out of the cylinder, but in most cases, you'll notice a significant lack of power, or sometimes you can hear a knocking sound. Your best bet is to take it to a mechanic, because sometimes it may not be the head and it might just be a faulty gasket

As far as i know the block and head on the earlier model 626's(96-98)also work....is the same engine,the only difference is the intake manifold(which the 2000 626 one is an upgrade for the mzdaspeed protege)and the ignition which is different than the coil-on-plug on the protege////
You have either a blown head gasket or a cracked head
6.5inches. Most modern speakers won't match up perfectly on the holes. I've owned a 1993 Mazda protege and a 1991 Mazda protege, I've changed the head unit, speakers and added an amp and sub to both, so I know =p

you have 2 horns' both close to the head litghts on left and right side
It Is underneath the dash on the drivers side, You are going to have to stick your head up underneath sometimes to find it.
the part of the transmission where the fluid goes is on the drivers side part of the transmission. its right above the transmission temperature sensor and its the biggest bolt head right above the transmission temp sensor
This is a major repair that is too complicated to be discussed here in this space. You can buy a Chilton's repair manual if you wish to tackle this yourself but know that it takes knowledge and the proper tools to make this repair. This is not a repair for a novice.
