3 ounces( 1 package) cream cheese

1tbsp warm water not boiling **

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups sifted confectioners sugar

beat butter water and vanilla gradually add the sugar and beat until smooth

I have never heard of cheesecake frosting but I have a good recipe for cream cheese frosting. You will need 8 ounces of cream cheese, 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 cup of butter. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add ingredients as needed to your desired taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package 8 ounce cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) room temperature
  • 2-3 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Mix the butter and cream cheese together (about 3 minutes on medium speed with electric mixer) until smooth.
  2. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing.
  3. Add the vanilla and mix.
  4. Slowly add the powdered sugar, keep adding the powdered sugar until you get the desired thickness and sweetness.

This technically is a "frosting" recipe not an icing recipe.

You can use all cream cheese or a combination of cream cheese and butter. You then beat it with powdered sugar and a little vanilla or other flavoring that you might like. Use one 8 oz package of cream cheese and one stick of butter both softened to room temperature. Beat in about 3 cups of powdered sugar and one teaspoon of vanilla. If you want it stiffer, you can add more sugar. If you don't want to use butter, you may need to add a little milk (1 or 2 tablespoons) to keep the icing from being too stiff.

you don't. cheesecakes are eaten w/o frosting. It's not a bread kind of cake. It sort of custardy where, when cut, has the texture of bread. it's not meant to be frosted
