Reduce Beef broth or beef stock, or Chicken Broth or Chicken stock. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan. When melted, add 2 tablespoons of flour. Stirring with a wisk, cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until the roux darkens some. Raise the heat to medium high and add 1 cup of beef or chicken broth. Stir until thickened.
