How do you open a car's trunk without the key?
Hey Michael==It would help if you listed what kind of car yu have. SOME cars you can get into the trunk by taking the back seat out and with long extensions, remove the latch. Good luckJoe
Some models allow the rear of the back seat to be removed. If it comes out you can crawl into the trunk and release the latch. If not, then the lock will either have to be picked by a locksmith or drilled out. On some newer cars, the dealer may be able to determine the key type from the vin # and be able to make a new key.
No, the same key used to unlock the car & start the engine is the same key you use to open the trunk. answer If you can open the doors and turn the ignition but can't open the trunk it's because you have a service (valet) key or don't have an original dealer key. Or your trunk key cylinder has failed or rusted shut.
On a 01 model, you should have a trunk release button in the trunk, or on the drivers door. If that doesnt work, you can see about lowering the rear seats down, and getting into the trunk that way. There should be a little pull strap near the trunk lock that will open the trunk. There is a trunk release button - when you open the glovebox, it is to the left of the opening…
My 1998 Lexus LS400 has a small lever to pull that releases the trunk. The lever is on the left side of the dash about 8 to 10" from the door. This lever can be locked with the key, so that the trunk cannot be accessed without unlocking the lever with the key. Note that the Valet Key cannot be used to unlock this lever. Note that the gas fill door release is to the left…
I cannot open the rear trunk to 1993 BMW 325i where the key does not unlock it nor does the lever on the driver's side Suggestions?
How do you get into the trunk of a 2002 dodge intrepid Electrical's dead and key won't work to open trunk?
How can you get into your trunk of your 1993 Lexus ls 400 without remote or the master key the car is not locked but the trunk lever will not open?
I came across this problem. There is a lock below the steering wheel that will cause the trunk lever to disengage when it is pushed in. Use the master key to turn the lock (located below the steering wheel). It must be the master key. Without the master key you will need to remove the lock (located below the steering wheel). Good luck.
