Never remove this cover. It is glued, and once opened it is trash. My guess is that your low coolant light stays on. If this is so, and you have been told to replace the sensor, DON'T. It is probably not the sensor, but the sticking float inside. The sensor is a smooth finger like thing that plugs in from the bottom of the reservoir on the side nearest the engine. It doesn't touch the water. Amagnet on a float just inside the reservoir activates the sensor. When the reservoir is hot and full, bang on it a few times(gently- don't break it). This should free it up for quite a while. Jake McCahn
if you have a 3.1v6 it is between the firewall and the valve cover on the back side of the engine.
typically in the valve cover.
IF IT'S A 3.1 ENGINE IT'S LOCATED ON THE BACK, FACING THE FIREWAL, VALVE COVER. SLIGHTLY UNDER THE INTAKE PLENIUM.
The Chevrolet Corsica 3.1 liter engine crank sensor can be found on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank sensor.
I found mine by opening the drivers door taking off the fuse cover and it had the sticker on the inside of the cover.
Yes it does. And it should be replaced, because most people do not replace them ever in the 3.1 engine. It is located underneath the far valve cover( not the one right in front, it's towards the back of the engine.) You may have to take off the upper intake to get to it.
yes! i have a 99 chevy mailbu v6 and it was spurting out coolant from that exact thing. cost me $400 at garage.
No ! The 216 engine is longer !
Small pinhead size holes behind the water pump, eventually breakthrough the cover and voila you get coolant mixing with engine oil.
On a 1994 Chevy C1500 5.0 V8 it is the top valve with a black cover next to the coolant resivoir
on the engine at the left hand side just below the cover
