1) Turn of everything electric that drains the battery when you leave the car, like headlights. A short-circute could also drain battery power. 2) If the battery is out of sulfuric acid, it won't work either. Only check acid levels when the engine is cold and wear safety goggles if possible, acid splashes in eyes can cause blindness. Always was your hands afterwards in case you got acid traces on them without noticing (no major injuries, but it can hurt a bit after some time). 3) If it is way cold, the battery can temporarily stop working too. Best way to avoid this is to keep the vehicle in a garage over night. 3) If the battery is old and worn out, it will get drained really fast and might not be able to activate ignition. Only way to fix this is to get a new one. A car battery contains lead and strong acid, both are very bad for people and nature, please dispose of it properly.
no the car wont start because the battery is dead, it was discharged by running it and not being recarged by the alt
A storm has nothing to do with the battery going dead.
No, this will place a very heavy load on the alternator of the car and may result in burning out the diodes of the car charging the battery. You could easily ruin the alternator. Purchase a battery charger and charge the dead battery with that. Alternators are not made to charge dead batteries.
Get a donor car and use it's battery to start your car. You will need a set of quality jumper cables. Or you can charge the dead battery on the car for about 2 hours with a good 10 amp battery charger.
A completely dead battery or a bad connection to the battery.
Jump the car from another car battery or hook a charger to the battery.
Your car won't turn on.

If it has a dead cell the battery will not hold a charge and must be replaced.
Some car battery charges will not charge a completely dead battery. You need to find a type of battery charger that is designed to charge a completely dead battery. You can get around this by hooking a car with a working battery up to the dead battery with jumper cables. The alternator/charging system of the car with the good battery will charge the dead battery. Leave them connected for about 30 min, then disconnect and try to use the battery charger again. If it still won't charge, hook it up to the car with the good battery for a longer period of time.
if anything is running off the battery (visibly on) the battery will eventually go dead
A dead battery will have no effect on the computer in the car any more than unplugging your home computer.
