Dealer only on 96+ newer Jeep Grand Cherokee's
I have a jeep 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee and found this answer on this site under programing a 1995 jeep Grand Cherokee. Its a very good description uses the same FOB.
it has to be done by the dealer. =(
I am trying to find out how to do the reprogramming, but haven't found out how, but did find out that from 1999- 2004 the door lock fobs are interchangeable. You may need to take to Jeep dealer to actually get it programmed, but at least you won't have to buy a new fob.
Have you replaced the battery in the fob?
I believe you have to take it to a Jeep dealership & they can program it. If you keep pressing the unlock button on your key fob (about four times) it will start chirping. The same for locking.
A scan tool is required.
Available at the dealer, he will have to program it.Available at the dealer, he will have to program it.
go to corvetteforum.com and they have the answer
The dealers scan tool is required.
So far its pay the Dealer $68.There got to be a salesman out there who knows and would answer this for a car buyer referal.
Most factory remotes have to be programmed into the vehicles computer by the dealership, and cost a fair amount to have done - something about security...
