I am trying to change the belt on a 2.2 L, 96 Pontiac Sunfire. There is no adjustment on the alt. or Power Steering that I can see and I cant see how the tensioners work. Anyone have any ideas.
This is a fairly major job. I highly recommend that you pick up a Haynes or Chilton manual to guide you through the procedure.
1996 pontiac sunfire 2.2 crank was moved but cam was not could the timing get out 180 degrees before i put it back together
The tensioner rotates or swivels on it's mount to put some slack in the belt. You can usually get a wrench or a shallow socket on the nut that holds the pulley and rotate it whichever direction it needs. FriPilot
Take it out and put a new one in!
if you're going through the trouble of dropping the fuel tank, I'd just put a new one in and be done with it
It has a capacity of 4 quarts.
On the rightside of the car. The low pressure line with the blue cap.
It doesn't have one unless you put one in yourself
A 4 cylinder takes 4 and 1/2 quarts
Yes if you don't disconnect your driveline
When changing the transmission fluid of any car, it is important to know how much fluid to put in. A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire takes 2.5-3 quarts of transmission fluid.
What bolts to loosen to put alernator belt on and how to put it on when a/c belt is on.
