The belt is too loose. Replace it or adjust the idler.
The 66 inch deck belt fits Murray 42 inch and 46 inch models 425303X92A, 425303X92B, 465305X92A, 465305X92B. The width is 11/16 inches. This belt size replaces Murray part numbers 37X112, 37X112MA.
Breaking of lawn mower belts is typically caused by 1 of several things. The first possibility is that there is an obstruction causing the blade to be stuck. If you don't clean out under the deck, the first run in the spring can cause the old dried grass to fall off under the deck and break a belt. I wore out a belt in one cutting because a stick got caught up on top of the deck and was rubbing the belt. The second possibility is that the blade spindle bearings are worn out causing the blade not to turn, or turn slowly wearing the belt out. The third reason is that the belts are out of alignment. This most likely happens if you have recently had to replace something else like a pulley stack, idler pulley, a spindle or the spindle bearings. If you typically cut with the blade all the way up or all the way down, the belt will ride at the extremes on the pulleys and wear faster. Most people cut at a setting in the middle, but cutting at the extremes, may cause additional belt wear.

There is no standard rule of what is a legal cut of a deck of cards. Casinos each have their own rules. It is considered proper to cut near the center of the deck. If any player objects to the depth of the cut, as in only three or four cards being separated from the deck, then the cut should be repeated with a more centralized cut.
As it is made from the factory, you must remove the deck. Remove the four nuts that hold the belt guards on, unclip the four fasteners. Remove the two nuts on the top of the deck toward the front, that hold the bracket for the gearbox. Loosen the two at the back lower side of the bracket. Raise the bracket up enough to get the belt out. To install just go in reverse. One thing to remember is after the belt is on, to set the small lower isolator that slides out to the tension pulley. This keeps the idler pulley from backing off enough to let the belt come off the pulleys, when the PTO stops suddenly. ALSO, if the belt comes off, the deck has to be removed to just put the belt back on the pulleys. I took my belt guards off and cut the slots out to the end so the cover it can be removed from above. Now to change, i lower the deck, unlatch the linkage, loosen the four nuts remove the guards. Put the belt back on, without removing the deck!!!
