Use a funnel small enough to fit into th dipstick tube and add as needed.

I have a '93 ford escort 1.9, I always use mercron automatic transmission fluid. Use Mercon but do not use Mercon V.

Assuming this is an automatic transmission, you can add ATF through the transmission dipstick tube. The dipstick itself will tell you what type of fluid to add.
