Your Mac should come with a Recovery Disk that enables you to reinstall Mac OS X. Simply insert the DVD when you boot up and hold the 'C' key (this tells the computer to boot from the DVD) and follow the onscreen instructions.
Reinstalling takes a bit of time, so perhaps it's worthwhile to try out some other options in the recovery disk, such as Disk Utility to try and back up whatever data you can, or troubleshoot problems that may not require a fresh install.

∙ 11y agoThe OS discs for your iBook were included in the original box. Assuming that you have retained these discs, the following will show you how to reinstall the OS.
Insert "Disc One" into your iBook and restart the machine. Upon the start up chime that your machine will emit, press and hold down the 'C' key. This will tell your machine to boot from the disc. Once the machine boots from the disc, follow the on-screen instructions for reinstalling the operating system.
WARNING: Always remember to back up your important files before reinstalling the operating system. When you reinstall the operating system, all of the files on your hard drive will be erased!
