Sounds like you are looking at the automatic transmission dipstick.

These dipsticks will have 2 levels on them. If the engine/transmission is cold when you check, go by the cool indicator. If they are hot, go with hot. Your engine oil dipstick will have indicators likely labeled 'low' and 'full' Hope this helps.
