remove the outside handle by lifting the handle up and removing the small clip in the underside of the handle The inside door handle? remove the screw pull towards the front then out and release the clips holding the lock and open rods
Door Panels Removal & Installation 1. Remove the sail panel (Front Doors Only). 2. Remove the door panel by carefully lifting the panel upward to release the retaining clips. 3. Remove the electrical plugs that control the windows, exc. 4. Repair handleThe installation is the reverse of the removal.
The screws are around the door handle and the door latch pop out the plastic behind the latch their may be a screw underneath the door panel and lift the window switch cover out from the bottom next to the handle striaght up off the metal clip slide it through the door then just pop it off the retainers
this is actually the easiest thing to do. DO NOT pry it off. under neath the door panel there shold be 2 screws remove those. Then where the inside door handle is there is a thing you pop off and there is a screw under neath there. After you remove that screw, remove that piece from the door handle, so you can see the inside of the door. Then just lift up from the bottom of the door and it pops right off.
Successfully done on a 98 Eclipse R/S w/o power locks or windows. The replacement exterior door handle typically comes with a new rubber/plastic seal and a new lock cylinder retaining clip.First, remove the 6 screws holding the interior molding to the door (x2 screws at the hinge, x2 screws at the jam end, x1 screw holding the molding at the interior door handle, x1 screw under a plastic cover in the door well (place to grab when closing door)). Remove the retaining clip from the window handle (if present) and remove the handle.Gently remove the interior door molding that's held in place by plastic clips. Roll up the window the whole way. Remove the bolt on the jam side of the door adjacent to the handle. This is one of 2 screws that holds the handle on. The other handle is located inside the void within the door. Peal back the plastic barrier on the latch side of the door to gain access to the bolt on the interior side of the door. To remove this bolt, I used vice grips to hold a 1" long 10mm hex bit socket to remove the remaining bolt. Once the bolts are removed, disconnect the x2 connecting rods (x1 for latch, x1 for interior lock switch) and remove the handle.Remove the lock cylinder from the old handle and install in the replacement handle. Seat the new handle in the door and install the x2 bolts to hold in the handle. Once the handle is secured, reconnect the x2 connecting rods and reinstall the interior door molding, screws and window handle.
