Hit it with a hammer.
With your hands
the coils are mounted to it
Please check your spark plugs, wires, distributor and rotor or the ignition coil module. My '93 LX has an ignition coil module.
electronic ignition module
It is inside the ignition distributor. You have to remove the distributor cap first. Then remove a rotor that carries a metal contact by unscrewing a screw from the rotor. The ignition module is below the rotor. You need to remove 2 screws to remove a cover for the ignition module. The two screws are extremely tight and cannot be removed using a normal screw driver. You probably have to use an impact type of electric drill with reversable (counter clock direction) speeds. I still have been able to remove the two screws myself.
Center of firewall. It is a black plastic box with 2 screws.
no it has a distributorless ignition system. it cosists off two coil packs and the ignition control module that sits under them
There should be a lock on the ignition a push button that you push and turn to remove the key
All together depending on where you go parts and labor about 722.00 : - )
Look behind the red colored dipstick. You will see 2 ignition coils side by side (the spark plug wires connect to them) these are mounted on top of the ignition module. Each coil connects 2 spark plug wires. The coils have 2 bolts that hold them to the block. Disconnect the 2 plugs at the top of the ignition module. Remove the bolts holding the ignition coils to the ignition module and the whole assembly will come off. When replacing the coils, the spark plug order from left to right is 4-1-2-3 (the cylinder order on the block from left to right is 1-2-3-4).
Saturn engine interchangibility.yes, by all means you can, the only thing is ..you have to match the ignition modules to the crankshaft. i.e. use a 93 module for the 93 crank and a 91-92 module for a 91-92 crank. there is a timing difference built in to the module for the crankshaft notches. that's about it. everything else will work.
The ignition module on a 86 ciara 2.5 is located under hood, center, lower engine area, below driver side of intake manifold . mounted inside of distributor
