Two ways. Either remove the bolts holding the bumper to the brackets, or remove the bolts holding the brackets to the frame and remove them with the bumper. Make sure you unplug the turn signal lights as well. It's pretty simple and straight forward.
It WILL fit. However, the 1970 bumper has turn signals in it where the '71-'72 front bumpers do not.

It's nerve jarring and a pain in the rear! The inner bolts are extremely hard so I just removed the entire front end and took it off so that I could see where they were and get to them. Just remember where everything goes back
