I just spent 5 hours replacing mine and it was very tedious and difficult to do. I have a 2006 extended cab. Basically you will have to remove the cup holders between front seats and the center console (9 screws). Below you will find the amp that has 4 screws. The 2 screws towards the rear of the truck are easy, but its the front 2 screws that will drive you crazy. I improvised as i couldn't get the ratchet under the metal cover over the front of the amp that I found no way to remove after pulling a few dozen screws. I put Duct Tape on the the 7 mm ratchet so i could pull screws out by hand (it was possible but i have strong hands). Then you will have to remove the back piece of trim that holds the rear cup holders (total of 6 more screws). The only way to get the amp out is to slide it out it is to bend 1 of the metal flaps that the cup holders attach to. I was able to bend it back without a problem....This will be the easiest was as the only other option i saw was to unbolt the console to the frame and that is way overkill...Hope this helps, but if your not too mechanically proficient, then this is a job for a professional.-Dan
nope... ;(
you can if you install the Bose amp also, just the radio swap will result in no sound.
its most likely inside the bottom of the console if you have one.
20 amp a 20 amp fuse
take it to the dealer
depends what kinda system the factory put in it .. if its a base system (UQ3 /UQ5) then the amp would be in the radio, if it has a Bose system (UQ7) the amp will be either under the front seat in the centre or under the centre console.
The amp is located under your center console, remove the cupholder, simply pull it up and out. You will see it positioned underneath the storage compartment. You will have to remove the console completely to access it though.
the amp is in the rear passenger door if you have a Bose system
A 2007 Chevy Avalanche will only have an external factory amplifier if it is equipped with a Bose stereo system. If there is a factory amp included, it will be underneath the center console.
Under your center console.
NO there is not.
I own the 1989Cadillac 4dr Sedan Deville with Bose premium sound. Each speaker has its own individual amp that is attached to the speaker. The amps in my car went bad causing only one of my speakers to work. If you are having issues with the amp from my experience it is better to run new speakers, stereo, and wires (but be warned it is no easy task to remove the old door speakers!).
