i need to know how to get the axle shaft out of my Ford f150 its a 1999 i took off the brakes the caliper i took off the back plate off the back of the pumpkin and your supposed to pull a c clip off and slide out the axle but how do you get the c clip off i cant figure it out can anyone help me out my e-mail address is jim13kar@msn.com thank you

Jack up the vehicle place on stands. Remove rear wheels and brake drum. Remove rear cover. Catch the gear oil in a drain pan. Remove the pin that holds the shaft for the spyder gears. Push the shaft out but do not pull it completely out. push axle inward remove c-clips from the end of the axle. pull axle out. Get a slide hammer to remove bearing from axle housing. replace bearing. reverse order to reassemble. How ever look at the wear on the axles. they will likely have to be replaced. good luck

Well, you certainly dont take it to Berglund Ford to have it done. This is day 2 for a 1.5 hour job.
